A Magistrate court sitting in Katsina has remanded in prison custody, the chairman of Batagarawa Local Government in Katsina state, Mr Bala Garba Tsanni over alleged murder, abduction and culpable homicide. The chairman and 11 others were arraigned before the court under sections 59, 249 and 189 of the Katsina penal code law. They were accused of the alleged murder of the village head of Dabaibayawa, Late Alhaji Dikko Ahmed. The police in Lagos have arrested Onyeabuchi, the son of actor John ‘Mr Ibu’ Okafor, and Jasmine Okekeagwu, his adopted daughter, over an alleged N55 million fraud. Mr. Ibu’s family has been in the public eye since the actor revealed his battle with an undisclosed illness and pleaded for assistance. The actor’s plight attracted donations from different people for his surgeries and treatment. Despite undergoing seven surgeries, the actor’s leg was, however, amputated. A Ghana court on Wednesday sentenced six people to death by hanging, including three soldiers, for their involvement in an alleged plot three years ago to overthrow the country’s government.
