Publishers of Judgments of The Supreme Court of Nigeria (S.C Report) - on the Authority of the Supreme Court of Nigeria
The National Judicial Council (NJC) is the body set-up by law to among other things discipline erring Nigerian judges. This was probably to prevent different agencies from harassing judges thereby boosting judicial autonomy. One would therefore have expected that the body would be up and doing in ensuring sanity in the Nigerian judiciary thereby giving no room for outsiders to pry into its internal matters. But this has not been so. Instead, the NJC has for long shown that it is incapable of effectively performing the function. Many judges who have openly misbehaved to the chagrin of other sectors of…
Human rights lawyer, Mr. Femi Falana has urged the Supreme Court to review some of its decisions on political cases, stressing that it was only then that Nigerians could begin to celebrate the new electoral jurisprudence promoted by the apex court. He also urged the National Assembly to study the decisions of the tribunals and the Appellate Courts on the 2023 general elections with a view to amending the Electoral Act and the relevant provisions of the constitution to ensure that election results are determined by voters and not by Judges. Falana in a statement titled, “Supreme Court And New…

But without the solar cells functioning, JAXA official Hitoshi Kuninaka said the craft would only have power for “several hours”. The spacecraft is dubbed the “Moon Sniper” for its precision technology. SLIM is one of several new lunar missions launched by governments and private firms, 50…

While noting that the preceding year threw up monstrous challenges on the corporate strength of the EFCC, he added that the commission has been able to stabilise the system and roll out fresh initiatives and policy direction for the…
