A Federal High Court in Lagos on Wednesday directed the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Ministry Of Petroleum Resources and National Petroleum Investment & Management Respondent Services (NAPIMS) from allocating crude oil to Addax Oil Exploration PLC It held that the crude is from that explored /produced from OMLS 123, 124, 126 and 137 as stipulated in the Production Sharing Contract (PSC) of 1998 between the Addax and NNPC. The Ondo State Government on Friday embarked on road show to sensitise members of the public on the reduced costs of getting Certificate of Occupancy (C of O) on property in the state. The Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba, has appointed Abiodun Alabi as the new Commissioner of Police for Lagos State. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is quizzing Ahmed Kuru, managing director of the Assets Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON), over allegations related to sale of assets. A top official at the anti-graft agency confirmed the development to TheCable on Wednesday. A Lagos-based lawyer, Tope Alabi, has asked the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to probe and if found culpable, prosecute Ikeja Electric Plc officials over alleged deliberate illegal disconnection and incorrect billing. Alabi said despite having a pre-paid meter since February 2021 and not being indebted to Ikeja Electric, he was wrongfully billed N466,484.56 as cumulative bills from March till November 2021. The House of Representatives yesterday mandated its Committees on Justice, Public Petition and Police to investigate the involvement of the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubarkar Malami, SAN, and the Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba Alkali on their alleged involvement in the police invasion of Magodo estate in Lagos State. The senate has deleted clause 87 of the electoral act amendment bill which provides for a compulsory direct primary poll for all political parties in the country. The change was made to the legislation after Abdullahi Yahaya, senate leader, sponsored a motion in the upper legislative chamber on Wednesday. Compulsory direct primaries for political parties and electronic transmission of election results are among the amendments proposed by the national assembly.
