The Federal High Court in Lagos has granted an order for the interim forfeiture of a popular entertainer, Pretty Mike’s Victoria Island property, alleged to have been used for drug dealing and storage.

Justice Musa Kakaki made the order on Tuesday following an ex parte motion filed and argued by the counsel for the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Mr. Buhari Abdulahi.

The property, located at No. 7 Akin Adesola Street, Victoria Island, Lagos, known as Proxy Lagos Night Club, was said to have been used to store 169 cylinders (384.662 kilograms) of nitrous oxide (commonly known as laughing gas) and 200 grams of cannabis sativa.

According to the NDLEA, the property belongs to Mike Nwalie and Joachim Hillary, who allegedly used the premises as a base for storing and distributing the illicit substances pending a planned drug party.

The NDLEA’s counsel, while moving the motion exparte dated October 27, 2025, asked the court to order the interim forfeiture of the nightclub to the Federal Government of Nigeria, being an instrumentality of crime under the NDLEA Act.

He also sought an order suspending all activities at the nightclub pending the conclusion of the agency’s investigation into the alleged drug operations.

Abdulahi argued that it was a statutory requirement to obtain an interim forfeiture order to preserve the property while investigations continued, noting that “no party would be prejudiced” by the court’s decision.

In an affidavit deposed to by the Deputy Commander of Narcotics Nasiru Garba Bungudu, the NDLEA stated that it received credible intelligence in October 2025 about preparations for a large-scale drug party at Proxy Lagos Night Club.

Following surveillance, it claimed operatives of the Lagos Strategic Command raided the premises on October 26, 2025, around midnight. During the operation, 169 cylinders of nitrous oxide and 200 grams of cannabis sativa were recovered.

Over 200 persons, including the two respondents, were reportedly arrested. The affidavit stated that Nwalie owns the nightclub, while Hillary works there and is involved in drug sales and distribution.

Laboratory tests conducted on the seized exhibits confirmed them to be controlled substances, the NDLEA stated.

The agency further alleged that the nightclub had long been used as a hub for drug abuse and illegal trade with the consent of the owner.

After reviewing the motion and accompanying documents, Justice Kakaki granted the order of interim forfeiture of the property and directed that all activities at the club remain suspended pending the conclusion of the investigation.

The judge adjourned the case till January 28, 2026.
