A prison warder, Joseph Fatunbi, alleged to have aided the escape of some inmates, was on Wednesday arraigned before a Magistrates’ Court in Yaba, Lagos State. He was, however, granted bail by Magistrate Linda Balogun. Fatunbi was arraigned on one count of aiding the escape of two prison inmates, Mohammed Aliyu and Adewale Ismail, from lawful custody. The other defendants were arraigned on four counts of conspiracy, unlawful possession of firearms and escape from custody. A Kenyan court on Monday acquitted a controversial self-styled preacher who claimed he could help infertile couples conceive “miracle babies” through prayer, citing insufficient evidence from prosecutors. British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has announced an increase in visa application fee paid by immigrants. The announcement came after a speech regarding an increase in public sector wages. The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Friday said it would sanction, by blacklisting bank directors with loans that remain non-performing for more than one year.
