The Lagos State Police Command has commenced an investigation into the death of a newlywed man, Abdulmujid Igbamitayo Oduga, while in police custody at Ikota Police Post in the Ajah area of the state. It was gathered that the deceased allegedly had a misunderstanding with his female neighbour, which led to his arrest and detention at the police post on Tuesday, February 11, 2025. A Magistrates’ Court in Kaduna, on Wednesday, ordered that a 34-year-old trader, Jibrin Yusuf, should be given 10 strokes of cane for beating his friend over N3,000 debt. The Magistrate, Ibrahim Emmanuel, imposed the penalty after Yusuf pleaded guilty to the charge of conspiracy and assault.
