Visit visa to the United Kingdom for less than six months will now cost £115 (about N111,878.28 ) as opposed to £15 (14,592.70) effective October 4, the UK Home Office has announced. Justice Akintayo Aluko of a Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos, yesterday, sentenced a 38-year-old driver, Segun Odeyemi, to 10 years imprisonment for trafficking in 3,842 Kilogrammes of Cannabis sativa, a banned substance similar to cocaine and heroin.d. Acting Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, yesterday asked commissioners of police in the 36 states of the federation and Federal Capital Territory, FCT, to immediately commence dismantling of all non-security checkpoints within their areas of responsibilities, and arrest violators for prompt prosecution. The Rivers State Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Abuja, on Wednesday, reserved judgment in the petition filed by Tonye Cole, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 18 March governorship election in Rivers.
