A Warri Chief Magistrate’s Court has Arraigned Ayirimi Emami, the deposed Ologbotsere of Warri Kingdom, over alleged stealing of two royal crowns worth N2 billion belonging to Warri Kingdom. The Nigerian Police Force had in August declared two sons of the late Olu of Warri, Ogiame Ikenwoli Godfrey Emiko, wanted for stealing the royal crown. The Lagos State Judiciary has held a valedictory court session in honour of a former Chief Judge of the state, late Justice Samuel Ilori. A statement released on Thursday titled, ‘Lagos Judiciary Holds Valedictory Court Session In Honour Of Late Justice Samuel Omotunde Ilori,’ revealed that the session was held at the premises of the Ikeja High Court. The World Bank on Tuesday released its November 2021 Nigeria Development Update, which showed — among other things — that eight million Nigerians fell into poverty in less than two years as a result of inflation shocks. The report also revealed that Nigeria no longer benefits from high oil prices, with record low revenues, and exorbitant fuel subsidies, which makes Nigeria the only country in the world granting universal price petrol subsidies. An Abuja-based human rights lawyer, Tolu Babaleye has revealed that some policemen attached to the Ekiti State Police Command have refunded a sum of N190,000 collected from his son who was forced to withdraw the money at gunpoint. British Columbia Court of Appeal has advised Counsel and parties to refrain from addressing justices as “my lady”, “my lord”, “your ladyship” or “your lordship”. In a Practice Directive (Civil and Criminal) by Chief Justice R.J. The remains of a former Chief Judge of Lagos State, Justice Samuel Omotunde Ilori will be committed to mother earth in his hometown, Ilesha Osun State on November 26, 2021.
