The Federal Government, yesterday, arraigned a Lagos State monarch, the Onikosi of Ikosi, Oba Alami Oloyede Onikosi, before the Federal High Court in Abuja over his alleged complicity in the forgery and falsification of a judgement of the Supreme Court. Oba Onikosi was docked alongside three others on a seven-count charge that also contained an allegation of perjury. The Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria has withdrawn its publication published in The PUNCH on Friday, October 7, 2022. This was contained in a statement signed by the Registrar/Chief Executive of CITN, Adefisayo Awogbade. The Institute had published a story congratulating Professor Muhammed Abdulrazaq, FCTI on his elevation to the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria. The Court of Appeal in Abuja, on Friday, ordered the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to call off its strike. The court gave the order after dismissing the union’s application for a stay of execution of an earlier ruling of the National Industrial Court directing the university lecturers to resume work. The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) says it uncovered an illegal 4-kilometre (km) pipeline from Forcados terminal to the sea, and a loading port that had operated undetected in the last nine years. The National Industrial Court of Nigeria(NICN) have issued a new set of Practice Directions in matters that involve filing of applications, motions in Trade Union Matters and marking of exhibits in originating processes in order to cut trial time, avoid time wastage in marking documents in court and cater for other rules.
