The immediate past governor of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi is currently at the Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ilorin, Kwara State where he is been questioned over N100 billion fraud his administration perpetrated while he was governor of the agrarian state.
Dr Fayemi arrived the Ilorin office of EFCC at exactly 9.47am on Thursday morning in a convoy of two Toyota Prado Jeeps accompanied by his lawyer and security details. He was immediately separated from them and taken into a room where where he was continually grilled by two EFCC officials. He was not allowed to see anyone but was been closely monitored through CCTV cameras.
As at 6.30pm, EFCC photographers took his pictures just like any other person been queried with allegations of complaints against him. Sources close to the anti corruption agency is not however clear the former governor will be detained overnight.
