The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja on Tuesday, March 8th, 2021 sacked Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State and his Deputy, Dr Eric Kelechi Igwe, from their respective offices, following their defection from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC. JP Morgan Chase Bank says Nigeria cannot prove its allegations of fraud and corruption against the bank and Mohammed Bello Adoke, former attorney-general of the federation, in the OPL 245-related case. The Minister of Finance, Budgets and National Planning, Mrs. Zainab Ahmed, said that the Federal Government, FG, has quietly removed all subsidies in the power sector, with a plan to gradually end subsidies on petrol. The Federal Inland Revenue Service and MultiChoice Nigeria have agreed to an out-of-court settlement of their pending tax disputes. According to a statement, both parties have agreed to an amicable resolution of their issues which had led to a series of lawsuits. Governor David Umahi and his Deputy, Kelechi Igwe have secured an interim order from the Ebonyi State High Court, ordering them not to vacate their offices.
