Dr.Folasade Yemi-Esan

The federal government ordered the immediate suspension of 3,000 workers for allegedly presenting false federal public service employment certificates. The Federation’s Chief of Civil Service, Dr Folasade Yemi-Esan, made the point Wednesday in Abuja, during a media conference as part of activities marking the celebration of Public Week celebrations. office 2022.
She revealed that 3,000 workers with fake certificates were discovered by the Federal Civil Service during the process of the Commission verifying the certificates and ordered the immediate suspension of the certificates. there.
Yemi-Esan said the new findings came after about 1,500 federal public service workers were discovered with fake appointment letters in April 2022.

She recalled that more than 1,000 employees had already entered the federal public service. was discovered earlier with a recruitment letter from the Ministry of Information. . while another 500 were found in other departments during a service-wide verification exercise and were removed from the list of the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System (IPPIS)
While explaining why there have been no recent vacancies to the Service, she noted that the federal public service is currently overwhelmed with more than 76,000 workers in the facility.
She argues that there is no way for the federal civil service to attract all Nigerian graduates, pointing out that the government’s plan now is to have an agile workforce.

She added that the experience of COVID-19, where junior officers stayed at home, was an indication that the Service was being over-expanded.
The head of the department revealed that before his arrival, more than 100,000 workers were on the payroll of the federal government and that number was reduced to 76,000 after continuously verifying and cleaning the pay system.
