Dear Colleagues,
The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) hereby invites members to submit nominations of suitably qualified candidates for appointment as Judges of the Federal High Court. This follows the official communication from the Honourable Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Hon. Justice John T. Tsoho, regarding the appointment of six (6) new Judges to the Bench.
The specified states for consideration are:
- Cross River State
- The Federal Capital Territory
- Kwara State
- Nasarawa State
- Sokoto State
- Zamfara State
In line with the NJC Guidelines and Procedural Rules for the appointment of Judicial Officers, the NBA is expected to recommend qualified candidates for onward submission to the Honourable Chief Judge. We, therefore, urge members to identify and submit the names of competent, qualified, and suitable candidates for consideration.
All nominations should be submitted to the NBA Secretariat on or before Monday, 24th March 2025, to enable timely collation and forwarding to the Honourable Chief Judge before the final deadline of Monday, 31st March 2025.
Members are advised to ensure that all nominees meet the requisite qualifications, experience, and ethical standards required for appointment to the Bench of the Federal High Court.
