The EFCC has indicted two officials of the Federal Ministry of Justice for allegedly receiving bribes to smuggle the name of a jailed banker, Francis Atuche, into the list of convicts recently granted pardon by President Muhammadu Buhari. Former Chairman of the Governing Council of Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, Dr. Saadu Alanamu, has expressed his gratitude to the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), for the presidential pardon granted to him. Nigerian governors have asked the federal government to raise value-added tax (VAT) to 15 percent and offer public workers older than 50 years a one-off retirement package to avert the looming economic crisis.
