A Lagos High Court, sitting at Tafawa Balewa Square, yesterday, admitted the two handwritten statements made by Chidinma Ojukwu, the alleged murder suspect of Super TV Chief Executive Officer, Usifo Ataga, in evidence. Justice Yetunde Adesanya said that the prosecution proved beyond reasonable doubt the voluntariness of the defendant’s statements. The Federal Trademark Registry, on Thursday, revoked all documents issued to actress Anne Njemanze in respect of brand ownership of a movie, “Domitilla”. The registry, a Commercial Law Department of the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment gave the revocation order in a judgment delivered in a petition over the ownership of the brand. Politician Ike Ekweremadu, 60, and his wife Beatrice, 56, stood trial accused of a conspiracy to bring the man to Britain from Lagos so he could provide an organ for their 25-year-old daughter Sonia Ekweremadu. Seven commercial banks paid a total of N95.68 billion in the first quarter (Q1) of this year as a levy to the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) amid concern over the continued existence of the agency, The ICIR reports.
